DELIVERY DRIVER GUIDE

Gate access should not derail your delivery.

An apartment gate or community entrance can turn a straightforward stop into a delay. A reliable routine helps you find authorized access information without guessing.

Start with the delivery instructions

Before arriving, check the recipient’s delivery notes and confirm the correct entrance. Communities may have separate visitor, resident and service gates. Follow your delivery company’s instructions and any posted access rules. Stop safely before using your phone.

Use a saved code only for an authorized stop

Location Codes is an Android gate code app built for drivers and independent couriers. It uses the phone’s GPS to find nearby codes contributed by users. The current detection distance is approximately 100 feet (18.3 meters); GPS accuracy can affect which location is found.

The app is useful at repeat delivery stops where someone has already shared an authorized code. It is not a universal gate directory, and it cannot guarantee a code for every address. A code that appears in the app is not proof that you have permission to use it.

If a code does not work

Confirm that you are at the correct entrance and follow any keypad instructions. Mark an outdated code with thumbs-down in the app. If no valid authorized code is available, contact the recipient, property staff or your delivery company through its approved process. Do not attempt to bypass a gate or follow another vehicle through without authorization.

Help the next authorized visitor

When you are allowed to share a code, save it at the correct entrance. Stand at the keypad or very close to it when adding the code. The saved location matters: adding it after leaving can put it at the wrong entrance. See our guide to saving gate codes accurately.

Built for couriers, not tied to one delivery company

Drivers working with large or small delivery companies can use the tool where their rules permit it. Location Codes is not affiliated with or endorsed by any delivery company. Shared information supplements the recipient’s instructions; it does not replace them.
