A useful gate code starts with the right location.
Location Codes connects a saved code to a GPS location. Accurate placement helps the next authorized visitor see relevant information when they arrive.
1. Make sure sharing is allowed
Only contribute codes you have permission to share. A code supplied privately for one delivery may not be intended for a shared database. Follow the property owner’s instructions and your delivery company’s policies. Do not publish personal details or instructions that encourage unauthorized entry.
2. Save at the keypad
Stand at the keypad or very close to it before selecting Add Code. Wait until you have a usable GPS position. Do not add a code from home, a warehouse or a different entrance. If a community has multiple entrances, the correct location is especially important.
3. Check the code before saving
Enter the authorized code carefully, including any required symbols. The app associates the contribution with your current location. An internet connection is needed for shared data. If you see a service error, do not assume the code was saved; check again when service is available.
4. Help keep existing information current
Use thumbs-up for a working code and thumbs-down for one that no longer works. Feedback helps the community identify outdated information. If a code is inappropriate or shared without permission, contact support@locationcode.org with enough information to identify the location. Do not post the code in a public review.
Why a nearby code might not appear
The app looks within approximately 100 feet of the saved position. GPS drift, poor signal, a different entrance or a temporary connection problem can affect the result. A successful empty search means no matching code was found; a loading failure means code availability could not be checked.
Always confirm permission to enter independently of the app. Read the privacy and responsible-use policy, or see the complete setup guide.
